privacy policy

We believe that any business and customer information that you provide to Meritus is your information, and thus you should decide how it is used. Our policy is that we will disclose and use this information on a personally identifiable basis only as directed by you or as is necessary to cooperate with our partners to provide our services.

We do not sell or rent any personally identifiable information about you to any third party. We do aggregate personally identifiable information, and we do use and disclose such information in aggregate. However, in these situations, our policy is not to disclose to other entities any information that could be used to personally identify you, such as your name, your email address, your contact information, your customers' names, your financial information, etc. Further, we may use information about you to screen out potential ads or offers from advertisers that are not relevant to you, but again, our policy is not to disclose to them any personally identifiable information about you. Finally, we may use personally identifiable information about you in the normal course of operating our site and to resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, and enforce our user agreement.

We may need to disclose personally identifiable information about you to our partners. For example, we may disclose information about you to Dun & Bradstreet or other credit agencies to authenticate your identity, process credit reports on you, process credit reports on your trading partners, or report non-payment of obligations. Also, we may disclose information about you to our financial partners (typically banks and commercial finance companies), some of whom advance the funds to provide cash flow benefits to our customers. These partners adhere to their own privacy policies with respect to your personally identifiable information.

And now, a word from our lawyers. Unfortunately (and notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this policy), due to the existing regulatory and technical environment, we cannot guarantee that all of your communications and information will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this policy. By way of example (without limiting the foregoing), we may be forced to disclose information to the government or third parties under certain circumstances, or third parties may unlawfully intercept or access your communications. Further, we can (and you authorize us to) disclose any information about you to law enforcement or other government officials as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate. Therefore, although we use industry standard practices to protect your privacy, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your information or communications will remain private. We reserve the right to change our privacy policy at any time without notice. The effective date of this policy is 1-1-2007.

As part of our service, we may send to you an occasional email containing information about us, updates on our service, and customer satisfaction questions. In addition to these occasional emails, we may email you administrative notices about your account (such as notices about pending activities). If you do not want to receive these emails, at any time, you can stop using our service. To stop using our service, please call our Customer Service Department at 1-707-824-4880, or send an e-mail to support@Meritus.com. In the future, we may offer third party products and services to Meritus users. However, if we do we will give our users the option to refuse those emails. To change information we have on file about you, you can either log-in to our site or contact us at 707-824-4880.

If you disclose information to other parties different rules may apply. Since we do not control third party privacy policies, we encourage you to ask questions before you disclose your personal information to others.
